The phrase “Peace for Our Time” was spoken on 30 September 1938 by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in his speech concerning the Munich Agreement and the Anglo-German Declaration. The phrase echoed Benjamin Disraeli, who upon returning from the Congress of Berlin in 1878 stated “I have returned from Germany with peace for our time.”
The concept of a “peaceful online vampire group” is one that has been sought after for a long time. Many groups have come and gone, succumbing to the almost inevitable “drama” that has swallowed up so much time and effort in the VC/OVC since its inception. The stresses attendant with creating, owning and managing, also policing a sub-cultural resource group have seen long hiatus’ taken by long time and highly reputable members of the VC/OVC. We have all been witness to so called “wars” between different groups when, in point of fact, these “wars” have been the product of personal feuds and hatreds.
The personal elements and passions that burst into hostility, unfortunately, can never be corrected and anyone thinking that they may be able to “broker” peace between rival organisations are creating a lot of work, stress and; more often than not, disappointment for themselves.
Upon considering this for some time we, at RVL E-Zine, decided to open a Facebook Social Group for our readers and followers to be able to interact. Our Social Group members interact on all sorts of topics, including the articles and editorials that appear her at the E-Zine. Comments and opinions are welcomed on the work we do here at the E-Zine, we encourage discussions on a whole range of material that we highlight from all over the VC/OVC…
At the RVL Social Group we are very conscious of maintaining a STRICTLY DRAMA FREE environment. Our members there know that they can discuss, in civilised fashion, can share opinions, ideas and news among themselves WITHOUT fear of ridicule, harassment, vilification, or DRAMA.
This means that peaceful and cordial relationships between people there are maintained, there are no inflammatory remarks or postings (these are dealt with swiftly and surely at ALL times)
We do not accept that a discussion, on ANY topic, need become “heated”, common sense, good manners and civil interactions are the foundations of the social group and we have found; over the history of the group, that this has succeeded EXTREMELY WELL. This demonstrates that over 600 members can come together in one place and form a cooperative venture that is absolutely free of “drama”.
The RVL social group on Facebook welcomes vampires/vampyres and all who are associated with the real living vampyre sub-culture for it is through diversity, acceptance and tolerance that the sub-culture grows and becomes stronger. We are not judges to pass sentence on anyone for their beliefs, we are not better than any, nor worse… we simply are civil, responsible, peaceful members of the sub-culture and we value those of the same leanings.
In the interests of maintaining these cornerstones the social group is a Secret Group, and will remain so, however, we are currently open to accepting applications from people who wish to join a haven online.
The “About” description can be found HERE, along with instructions on how to apply for membership at the social group. If you’ve been looking for a peaceful place to spend some quality time with others of your kind, look no further, we have built it for you.
