Tony Sokol Live … and undead

Madame X, the owner, administrator, mentor and matriarch of the International Nightkind Coven House of the Dreaming and co-founder of the New Jersey-based Vampire Court  Iron Garden floated over to Daily Offbeat to give some occult background to the number 13.

The Court of Lazarus is the Original Salon Noir: a haven for dark ideas, performances and rituals combined with a classic Goth lounge night and dark cocktail party – and some surprises are always thrown in.

The Iron Garden is a New Jersey based organization providing a safe haven for gathering, socialization, education, promotion of the arts, charity-work and fun for the New Jersey Nightkind Community. The Iron Garden is comprised of mature, discrete, intelligent, like-minded folk.

You never know who you are surrounded by. It could be your neighbor, your coworker, even your best friend at school.  Vampires have seamlessly melted into modern day society and have lived side by side regular citizens for hundreds of years now.
But all that changed in October 2014.
This is the night primal instincts go unchecked.  Blood thirsty vampires will give chase to transform citizens to increase their numbers and strength, while citizens will run to protect their mortality.  The hunt begins when the sun sets.

These results have me thinking, “What is our fascination with the myth that is the Vampire all about”? What is it about these lifeless creatures who existence was first promoted in the pages of Bram Stoker’s breakthrough novel, “Dracula”, that has intrigued us and prompted us to create a multitude of books, movies , television shows and games based upon them?   Read More

Bovine Sex Club
542 Queen Street West
Toronto, Ontario

Few things are more fickle than fashion, but the club scene is one of those things. Even so, the fact that the moody Bovine Sex Club has been “in” since it opened in early ’91 isn’t too hard to figure. It could be the nifty Dada look. The result of local artist collaborations, or it could be the music, a mix of cutting edge rock, retro 80’s, punk, glam, metal, 70’s funk, and British pop. Located on Queen Street West in the mega city, Toronto, and open 7 days a week for your drinking pleasure.
